Why did I scar?

Scarring is the body's natural response to wound healing. Anytime the skin is damaged, it heals by scarring.  Scars can be "fine" or "keloid", normal skin tone or dark or lighter than surrounding tissue, flush or depressed or mounded. Scars can be functionally compromising and emotionally damaging.

Dr. Steven Dominguez performs scar revision using a combination of advanced aesthetic techniques.  These include the use of fillers, dermabrasion, steroid injections, Erbium laser, 1319 laser, ultrasound, radio-frequency, PRP, or topical gels.  Some scars will require surgical excision with advanced precision "Y" or "Z" plasty or advancement flaps.

It must be understood that ANY attempt to correct a scar may result in a worse scar.  This is especially true of any attempt to correct a keloid scar.
